🩸Our Tips to a Killer Costume 🩸

1. Commit to the bit.

Everyone has their own Halloween style. Some people love a sexy pirate or nurse. Others go full horror with fake blood, prosthetics and enough gore to make people do a double take. Then there are the mysterious types who disappear inside a mascot suit for the entire night.

Whatever your vibe is, commit to it. Don't half-arse it. Halloween is the one night of the year where "too much" doesn't exist.

2. Don't Be Another Spider-Man.

Every year there are a handful of costumes that completely take over Halloween. Our predictions for 2026? Expect to see plenty of Supergirls, Spider-Men, and Grecian Odyssey-inspired looks making the rounds.

There's nothing wrong with a popular costume, but if you really want people talking, go a little left of centre. Dig through your favourite horror films and cult classics. Bonus points if someone says, "I wish I'd thought of that."

3. When in doubt, make it horror.

We are Dracula's, after all. Vampires. Witches. Ghosts. Demons. Zombies. Creepy dolls. Haunted brides. Serial killers. If your costume looks like it belongs in a nightmare, you're probably on the right track.

4. Don't underestimate the details.

The difference between a good costume and a great one usually comes down to the finishing touches. Think fake blood, dramatic makeup, fangs, contact lenses, jewellery or the perfect prop.

You don't need to spend a fortune. Just add those extra details that make your costume look intentional instead of something you threw together ten minutes before leaving the house.

5. Dress for a night out, not just the photo op.

You'll be riding our Ghost Train, enjoying a three-course dinner and partying late into the night, so make sure your costume can go the distance. If you can't sit down or climb the stairs, you may have committed a little too hard.

One final bonus tip: Leave the thongs at home. Your feet will thank you by the end of the night.
